I am writing today from Sarajevo, Bosnia. This morning I had a delicious cup of Turkish coffee with the great Joan Baez. Small world huh? Been taking in the sites and enjoying the beautiful scenery. The tour is in full swing and the movie is promising to be a good one!! I posted a blog today at www.thechickenpickinranchhand.blogspot.com swing buy and check it, its my first in a while. Im leaving for Europe tomorrow. I will try and keep a blog going to keep everyone up to date. Also make sure to check out www.emmettstallings.com. It is the home of our drummer of the same name. He will have some entertaining blogs as well. Also two new Swiss gigs have been announced. So keep stopping by.

On another note, www.shadefreemusic.com is up and running. This is the home of a music catalog I have been working on with my good friend Philip Jones in LA. We are working hard to get a film scoring/music licensing company started. Stop by and check it out!

Europe dates are final...allmost. Im sure there will be a few more poping up. Also BIG NEWS!!!! We will be accompanied by a film crew for the entire tour!!! This means MOVIE! It will be written and directed by Brad Aldous. You may have seen his stuff on Conan O'Brien. Ill keep you up to date as the details become available.

New dates are up! Including next weekend at The Shakori Hills Grassroots Festival in Pittsboro! I will be joining Angela Easterling and her band! Come and enjoy the deep pocket, as I will be playing Upright Bass!

I put up some new music from last week on myspace. The first is a piece by Joe Troop we worked up while on tour with Tennessee Jed. We premiered it at the ITC Theater in Highlands, NC on Banjo and Mandolin. However we decided to rearrange it for Guitar and Banjo. You can hear two more songs from our recording session at www.myspace.com/joetroop.

The second is a great bluegrass brother duet written by Philip Barker. He was in town with Town Mountain and stopped by to lay this one down. For those of you who may not know, Phil and I were partners in Steel String Theory. It is great to be writing and recording together again.

I hope more will be recorded and posted soon.

Hi yall! I just returned home from a great European tour with The Ranchhands. It was a quick two week trip, however four of the six shows were sold out! We shared the stage with some great bands and met tons of great people along the way. I hope to have pictures up soon. Also a youtube search of The Ranchhands should yield some live videos of the trip. Im off tomorrow to play some shows on mandolin with Raleigh based Tennessee Jed. Check the tour page for info.

Movie Scoring

I am now available for film scoring. I am working with my good friend Philip Jones in LA to start a Film scoring company. We will be focusing on writing original scores for Television shows, Commercials, and Motion Pictures. You can read about my past projects on the Bio page. I hope to have the new companies website launched in the near future. For the mean time I have posted a few samples of our work on myspace. I will have some video available next month.
